Haldor Topsøe announced September 24 that it signed a contract with the Henan Jinkai Group, China, for a sulfur management plant tied to a coal gasification project in Kaifen City, Henan Province.

The contract includes license, basic engineering, equipment, materials, catalysts, supervision and training.

The sulfur plant “will be built in connection with an ammonia plant, producing 500 kilotons/annum of ammonia for fertilizer production,” according to Topsøe.
