Solidia Scheme Attracts BP, Total as Investors

New Jersey-based Solidia Technologies announced Dec. 9 that oil majors Total and BP have joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Beyers, Bright Capital, Lafarge, clean-tech investor Bill Joy and chemical giant BASF in a “Series C” funding round, but didn’t disclose the amount.

Australia-based Greenearth Energy—part owner of Israel-based NewCO2Fuels (NCF)—announced Dec. 2 that a proprietary study by Technip finds that the NCF scheme tapping waste heat, water and carbon dioxide (CO2) for “fuels” production would be commercially ready by 2017.
