$685 Million ‘White Rose’ Grants Given By EU

The European Commission announced July 8 that it awarded a grant of up-to €300 million (US$408 million) for carbon capture and storage (CCS) at the proposed 426-megawatt (MW) “White Rose” oxy-fired coal power station in the U.K., plus a separate €203.7 million (US$277 million) grant for E.On’s proposed “Bio2G” synthetic natural gas (SNG) project in Sweden.
