USDA Lowers U.S. Corn-Crop Projections for 2014-2015

The 2014/2015 U.S. corn crop is forecast 68 million bushels lower, but still a record at 14.407 billion bushels, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, with an average yield of 173.4 bushels per acre, down 0.8 bushels from October.

REG Biodiesel Sales Rise, Revenues Drop in 3Q 2014

Ames, Iowa-based biodiesel producer and marketer Renewable Energy Group Inc. (REG) recently announced that it sold 14.4% more gallons of biodiesel, but revenues dipped 16.2% to $384.3 million in its third-quarter (3Q) 2014 ending Sept. 30, compared to the same period last year.
